Hi I'm nikofoxyfox. I like the mother series (earthbound) and various videogames. Only 90's anime please

Cool! Welcome to NG

I like Earthbound too. But only 90's anime? You're missing out...

We'll I mean in the 90's people didn't expect stuff like cowboy bebop, trigun, dbz, yu yu hakusho, etc. it was all so new and different. But now all of it is very predictable and mostly the same stuff.( do have to say attack on Titan is pretty cool.)

I've watched Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, etc. and even Baki the Grappler.
Sure it was all new at the time, but that's why people gave it a chance. People are extremely picky, and don't appreciate hard work. Unless it's new or different, people lose interest.

Compared to the stuff that I've watched today, I cannot agree with you when you say, "it's all very predictable." Either you only watch mainstream anime that's English dubbed, or you expect to be drawn in half-way through the first episode. The plot isn't supposed to thicken until a few episodes later. The characters, settings(s), motif, etc. should be introduced before stuff get's good.

I recommend the following:
1) Get the "Crunchy Roll" app for mobile. Not for the console.
2) Get someone's Netflix log-in info.
3) Get used to reading subtitles. I mean, you are a big boy right? Haha.
4) Chose a fairly new anime based on the genre and synopsis. Yeah, I know, they all pretty much take place in high school. But middle and high school students are the most popular demographic, where most of the viewers come from.
5) Commit to watching 2-4+ episodes before giving a harsh rating.

Here's a list of different stuff you probably never heard of.
Check them out, if you're interested *shrug*.
Most of these can be found on Netflix:

Deadman Wonderland
Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings
No Game No Life
The Irregular...
Code Geass
Code Geass R2
Mirai Nikki - Future Diary
Gurren Lagann
Tenjou Tenge
Death Note
Sword Art Online
Soul Eater
Hunter X Hunter
Blue Exorcist
Samurai Champloo
Full Metal Alchemist (FMA)
FMA Brotherhood
Naruto Shippuden
Log Horizon
Akame ga Kill!
Bleach
The World God Only Knows
Demon King Daimao
Durarara
RWBY

I just think the 90's anime is cooler. Also.....I am used to having to wait for plotlines to develop, just trust me on that one. Oh and 90's anime had more comedic relief than stuff today and I think that is more important than serious plotlines. Oh and I have heard of many of those anime series' . And I have watched a lot of stuff with subtitles (more than just anime!!!! I watched wind that shakes the barley. It's a movie about the Irish rebellion and without subtitles it is barely understandable)
